  1. Haha. Awesome.
I enjoy using that word around my homophobic boss, probably for the same reason I enjoyed that skipping rhyme:

    hell-o operator, please give me # 9,
and if you disconnect me, I’ll kick you from
behind the ‘fridgerator’ there lays a piece of glass,
Miss Susie sat upon it and cut her little
ask me no more questions, please tell me no more lies

Then again, I have to legitimately type “bitches” every day (referring to dog studies) and it makes me uncomfortable, so I kind of understand. Ah! Empathy with Rush! AH! AHHH! IT BURNS!!!! (Wait – he’s uncomfortable because he’s a jerk. Never mind.)

  2. But I would guess that “bitches” makes you uncomfortable because you are uncomfortable with slurs against women, not because you hate women! I don’t think Rush’s discomfort with the word “dike” is due to the history of “dyke” as a slur and Rush’s support of lesbians.

  3. Part of me hopes that Rush et al. gets crazier and even more extreme … they might finally marginalize themselves completely. But, worst-case scenario is that they incite violence from their rabid, mouth-frothing idiotic following.

It’s true, he’s kept his radical queer support close to the chest all these years, hasn’t he?
